Here’s the outcome from our Town Hall meetings. APC Achieved with the Salary Reopener Ratified Agreement 2020-2022.
APC and CSU Reach 2022-2024 Agreement
Soon after we concluded our Salary Re-opener with CSU, and while our members were voting to ratify the agreement, the CSU approached us to engage in discussions regarding a further contract extension. These discussions occurred while the CSU was in the final phases of their negotiations with our sister union CSUEU for their agreement that begins July 1, 2022.
The APC Bargaining Team agreed to listen to the CSU proposal. The CSU proposed a two-year contract extension to cover 2022-2023 and 2023-2024. After discussion with the APC Statewide Council, we are pleased to announce that we have agreed to a further tentative extension to our contract that will now continue through June 30, 2024.

Lobby Day in Sacramento
APC and our sister unions have pulled out all the stops as we lobby the California Legislature to approve $287 million for the CSU to implement recommendations from the Mercer Salary Study. On May 23, APC joined the CSUEU, Teamsters and UAW at the state Capitol for Lobby Day 2022 as we continue our work to improve salaries for all employees in our bargaining unit.
Fund Our Future
We need Governor Newsom and the state Legislature to fund salary structure reform at the CSU and ask that the state increase the University budget by $287 million. We assk that you take swift action and contact your legislators today to urge that the state fund our future.

CSU Employee Minimum Wage Regulations
Here is an explanation of how the minimum wage effects an employee’s exempt or non-exempt status under the FLSA. Effective January 1, 2020, the Department of Labor issued regulations affecting the salary tests used to determine an employee’s exempt status under the FLSA. Under the updated regulations an employee, irrespective of time base, must earn more than two-times the Federal minimum wage.
