Attention Unit 4 Employees: Take Action Before It’s Too Late!
On April 29, 2025, APC will be in Sacramento for Lobby Days, urging lawmakers to:
- Fund the CSU system — responsibly
- Stop the Cuts
- Demand Accountability from CSU
The state’s 2025–26 budget will be finalized in May and goes into effect July 1. The decisions made during this time can directly impact staffing levels and job security across the CSU system.
Time is of the essence — and every voice counts.
The more people who contact their representatives, the louder our message becomes and the greater the pressure lawmakers will feel to act. Together, we can help protect CSU jobs and demand accountability in how funds are used.
Why Funding and Accountability Must Go Hand in Hand
Lower student enrollment has contributed to growing budget deficits at many campuses. Despite these financial challenges, the top CSU Administration has continued to receive high salaries and has not faced pay cuts.
Many campuses are now running at a deficit and restructuring departments to cut spending. If internal campus measures can’t fully resolve the deficits, state funding will be essential and we must ensure that any new funding goes toward protecting jobs first, not elsewhere. That’s where legislative accountability becomes vital.
At the same time, unexpected state-level costs, including the aftermath of devastating wildfires, have placed strain on California’s overall budget.
Whether you’re facing the uncertainty of a layoff or will need to absorb extra work if your department gets downsized, we all feel the impact of job cuts.

Your local steward may host a meeting before April 22 where you’ll have a chance to do one of the following:

- Send an email
