The Election Committee plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and fairness of APC’s elections. This committee oversees the process by which APC’s leadership is elected, providing members with a chance to choose their representatives in key positions such as President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. With the upcoming elections, it’s more important than ever that members engage and cast their votes, as only dues-paying APC members can participate.
Mission & Oversight
The APC Election Committee is responsible for establishing the timeline, determining candidate eligibility, and overseeing the voting process for APC elections. The committee works to ensure transparency, fairness, and accuracy throughout the entire process, which includes creating the official ballot, managing the vote count, and resolving any election-related challenges.
Elections are now conducted digitally, making the process more efficient and accessible to members. The committee collaborates with an external vendor to handle vote tabulation, ensuring that every vote is counted accurately and securely. Results are posted once the votes have been certified, and members are notified through APC’s communication channels.

Why Elections Matter
The role of elections within the union is more than just a formal process, it’s how members can have a say in the direction of APC and how their issues are represented. Voting for the four elected officers (President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary) is one of the most direct ways members can influence APC’s work. Without active participation, we risk not having our voices fully represented at the decision-making table.
The Election Committee ensures that every member’s vote counts and that the process is fair and transparent. It’s crucial that members not only vote but also consider taking on leadership roles to strengthen the union.
Who Can Vote
Only active APC members are eligible to vote in these elections. If you are not yet a member but wish to vote, you can still become one by completing the membership application and submitting it alongside your ballot. Elections are now held digitally, making it easier for members to participate, no matter where they are.
Get Involved
Active participation is the key to a strong union. Whether you’re interested in running for office, joining a committee, or simply attending union events, every bit of involvement matters.
Contact your local steward to learn how you can get involved or join APC and cast your vote.
