APC Bargaining Update August 2026

APC Bargaining Update August 2026 title

To All Unit 4 Employees:

Last week, the APC Bargaining Team met with the CSU to continue negotiations over our contract salary re-opener. During the session, the CSU presented proposals related to salary and benefits. Again, we were disappointed that the CSU Bargaining Team came up with the same proposals for all the other unions and did not take this opportunity to improve them, knowing full-well that the other unions rejected their proposals.

APC responded by submitting a counterproposal focused on achieving an ongoing General Salary Increase (GSI) for our members. We did not respond to the CSU’s proposed language regarding a joint advisory work group on benefits, choosing instead to keep the discussion focused on reaching an agreement that provides meaningful salary increases.

The CSU will review APC’s proposal and provide a response at a future bargaining session. We remain committed to advocating for fair compensation and will continue to keep you informed as negotiations move forward.

Since our bargaining session, the CSU has released a new compensation market study conducted by Segal. APC is reviewing the report closely, and we already have serious concerns with how the CSU is characterizing its findings, particularly its reliance on total compensation and benefits to portray salaries as competitive. The study itself shows that APC base salaries remain below the higher education market median, and we will be providing members with a more detailed analysis of the report and its methodology.

In Solidarity,

The APC Bargaining Team
